In most Organizations, CMDB implementations fail due to multiple data inputs, Lots of data but little information, Stale / duplicate data. In almost every case, maintenance of a CMDB is an afterthought.
To mitigate these challenges, we have designed a federated Config Management System with minimal data populated into standard CMDB tables. The federated structure allows customers to pull related information(like software installed, processes running etc) about the device in real time, without permanently populating the CMDB tables.
The essence of our CMDB solution is - Create an Information system, rather than a data dump yard.
To accomplish this, we have integrated 1E platform with ServiceNow to populate a few CMDB tables with device Information.
- Populate key attributes in CMDB from 1E platform API (serial number, mac address, FQDN etc)
- Integrity of CMDB maintained through standard identification/reconciliation rules.
- Discovery source is set to “1E CMDB” in CMDB tables.
- Gather additional attributes in real time(IP address, Operating System, Domain etc.)
- 1E related lists - Push button to retrieve data directly from device (Running processes, installed software etc.)
- 1E Information Service - Query your entire Organization's devices all at once. Data is collected from all devices and presented in ServiceNow's TIS record.
- Works seamlessly in tandem with ServiceNow Discovery and SCCM integration.
- Calculated device to user mapping
- Supports domain separated instances
- Supports Basic Authentication and OAuth2.0 Authentication
- Supports Laptops/Desktops in Computer or PC hardware table
- Supports Windows Server devices in cmdb win server table
This release of 1E CMDB Connect v3.0.7 contains following changes -
- Supports ServiceNow Australia release
- Domain separation support
- Supports computer, server and pc hardware table
